"Two Great Tastes That Taste Great Together"

It's _________?

These two items crossed the radar screen last week. I would have been lost without them while making my trips back and forth to the hospital.

I swear to God, there must be something in that glaze that makes an otherwise rational human being swerve across several lanes of traffic and through an intersection to get to a location that is proclaiming "HOT Donuts Now!" (Not that I have ever done that, mind you.)

Oh, and the answer from above? Any guesses? Who remembers their TV commercials?

Isn't in Reese's...the two great tastes?
I've never had a Starbucks coffee, probably for the same reason I'd never pay $500,000 for a Ford. Tim Horton's blows it away, anyway. Shame they're sooooo far away now. *sniffle*

I didn't even notice they didn't run the Reese's commercials anymore.

Are you too young to remember the "how many licks" one, and the one about a candy bar (block of chocolate) going under a bridge on a river in a big city? I never did like that candy because I think it had raisens in it.

I've never understood the Krispy Kreme phenomenon. And I have had "HOT Donuts Now!" They are still just donuts.

Still just donuts?!? I....I don't know what to say to that. Sheesh!

And yeah, it's Reese Peanut Butter Cups. Mmm... Speaking of oldie commercials, how about Marathon Bars -- they always had someone taking forever to eat the thing, like the guy facing a firing squad, etc.

I don't know what the 2nd commercial anon mentioned is, but maybe for Chunky Bars? I didn't like them either -- the raisins.

Krispy Kreme is awesome!!! Where I live now is about twenty miniutes away from a Krispy Kreme . . . The doughnuts are well worth the drive.

I enjoy the glazed, but I also like the cream sticks. Supposedly, Akron was one of the only places that had the machinery to make the cream *sticks* (as opposed to the round cream-filled doughnuts), but they closed the one closest to my parents' place a few years ago, and I don't know that you can get the cream sticks any more. I know I can't get them up here in the Cleveland area. Sigh.

Also: I was just looking up old Reese's commercials on YouTube last week. I think I saw three or four different ones, often tagged with a comment like this: Who walks around town snacking from a giant jar of peanut butter?

Good question.

We have loved Krispy Kreme's cream sticks for years! My parents are from Akron and my mom would have my aunts bring dozens down on the plane when they would come visit. We then got a Krispy Kreme in San Antonio and there were no cream sticks, only the round ones. The round ones do not taste as good as those sticks for some reason. Akron must use a special recipe! Does anyone know anything more about this???
