537 Votes

That was the difference in Florida in 2000. So don't vote, it surely won't matter, will it?

Well, it all depends. Didn't matter whether *I* voted in 2000. I lived in California. I hate this simplistic, "vote, it matters" crap. You're better than that.

I've already been reading news articles about bona fide, registered voters being removed from the rolls. Sorry, but in our overtly-corrupt-throughout system I have to agree with Anna. For quite some time now, our choice has merely been a lesser of two evils--liar "A" vs. liar "B." The only hope for true change anymore is revolution. Unfortunately the sheeple aren't quite ready, although I have heard the first stirrings here & there.
I've been waiting all my life for a candidate that truly represents the antitheist anarchist/libertarian's point of view. Still no dice.

Anna - yes, but it is the system we have. popular election is still too unpopular to work right.

Kim - don't think we haven't thought of ways to make that happen. But I'm not Republican, I don't cheat (at this anyway)

Archivalist - Only if I can vote in Florida

Lana - I am sorry you feel that way, but you doesn't change sometimes work best from the inside?

We (as Cdn) had to vote just before we left for HI and it was really a case of voting against someone and not for a candidate, which is sad. I wish they (the system) would count the voluntary cancelled votes, because for many years I went to exercise my right but voided my vote, because I didn't want to vote for "larry, moe or curly" since they were the only options we had... I feel I have an acquired right and I will use it, if only as a principle.

Sometimes change comes from within, yes. On a personal level it must. However, Louisiana voted soundly & solidly for McCain, proving that my vote wouldn't have mattered, after all.
Believe me when I say that I hope that Pres. Obama lives up to his words. I really do hope...

Paw - If nothing else, follow the words of Bob Schieffer's mother, "Voting will make you feel big and strong."

Lana - If there were a few thousand people who felt like you (as I assume there are), your vote could have mattered. And someday it might.
