Eight Books I Have Read Recently
- The Lobster Coast
- The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid
- The Code
- I'm impressed I got through three books recently. But I could include that lobster and crab book that I have read endlessly to a 3 1/2 year old.
- But I do have several on my nightstand, really I do.
- Good Morning Vietnam
- The Towering Inferno
- The Princess Bride
- National Treasure
- Field of Dreams
- It's A Wonderful Life
- 1776
- The Poseidon Adventure
- My wife
- My children
- My family
- My friends
- My profession
- My job
- Really good potato chips
- This election, it's just too important
- "Hey!" or "Step!" - when LBA needs a time out (he has to sit on the step)
- When he sometimes says "hey, daddy" to me as the start of some long monologue, I will sometimes respond, "Hay is for horses, sometimes for cows, pigs they don't eat it, cause they don't know how." (It's from a movie, but the name escapes me)
- "Brave Astronaut, May I Help You?" - when I answer the phone at work (of course I do use my real name)
- "What's for dinner?" (most often a rhetorical question, because of scheduling, I'm the one making it.)
- "Gopher?" (inside joke)
- "I'm out and up" (indicating the day is at an end and I am heading upstairs to bed. Sort of a reversal of the morning goal of being up and out - get it?)
- "Really" (can be said as a question, "Really?" / exclamation, "Really!" / confirmation, "Really, it's true."
- Travel the world
- Be financially secure (now, stop laughing, it's going to be fine)
- Play baseball professionally, at least try out for it (hey if we're talking pipe dreams, that's one of mine)
- Play golf and score consistently in the double digits, that is under 100 (hey, I played the other day after visiting the dentist (a good checkup!) and scored the best round for nine holes I ever had.)
- Have season tickets to my favorite sports, baseball and hockey.
- Publish
- Make a difference
- um, not die?

Nice list! I might have to "steal" this!!
LOL at the "umm, not die?" Really?
The Princess Bride just soooo rocks. I only know one person who disliked it so passionately she couldn't even sit through it. She's a weirdo.
Paw - I thought "not die" was a nice touch.
Lana - it was a little disturbing that I could have easily done more than eight movies, but had to struggle to come up with three books.
